Me

I have more than five decades of experience in photography and computing, including programming.

Computer Programming

My first computer was an IBM 360/75 at University where I learned Fortran programming starting in 1968. Following University, I spent many years maintaining and then creating computer programs and systems in a business environment. This work included modifying operating systems and writing and maintaining system software.

Since I retired, I have maintained an interest in programming and computer software.

Information Security

The last several years of my working life was spent in Information Security. As I noted above, I intend to cover Information Security topics for individuals rather than commerical enterprises and businesses.

Photography

I purchased my first serious camera1 in 1972. Since then, I have owned and used several more 35 mm and digital cameras. I am not now, nor have I ever been a professional photographer. I also do not consider myself a photography expert; I am an enthusiastic amateur who feels he can help others on their path to enjoying the hobby.
